Have a Heart 2 Page 9
“That’s all right,” the lady lied. She just wanted to get home to her children.
“I truly am sorry.” Brianna was ashamed of herself.
Scott opened the door for both of the women. The lady locked up and hurried to her car. Scott was even madder than before. He walked Brianna to her room and unlocked the door for her. She whispered her thanks and went in. He set her tray down on her desk and stood off to the side with his arms crossed over his chest. “Eat.”
Brianna’s crush was fading again. He sounded extremely mad. Brianna sat down at her desk and picked up her fork. She slowly started to eat, very aware of the sound of herself chewing.
Scott rolled his eyes and looked at his watch. “I’ll be back to check on you later.” He wanted to punish her last so he could take his time with it. Besides, he needed to discuss something with her. That would take a lot of time too. He left the door wide open so he wouldn’t have to knock later on.
Scott went to his room and got his hairbrush. He visited the two young ladies from before, taking the time to explain that if a guy would date both of them, then he wasn’t worth them fighting over him. Nor would he be faithful and loyal later on. The girls should think more of themselves, and then the guys would too. Guys could only treat them that way if the girls let them.
Scott went back to Brianna, who was still eating. He looked at his watch. He had only been gone fifteen minutes. Scott continued to watch her slowly eating. “Hurry up, Brianna.”
“I’m just not that hungry. I had a really big lunch,” she admitted.
That had obviously been the wrong thing to say because he looked even madder. She leaned back away from him.
“Is that the excuse that you thought up in all that time? That’s the best you could come up with?”
“I – um – I just didn’t realize the time. I was studying.” She offered that last bit up as a last ditch attempt to get out of trouble.
“That’s good. That’s really good because I am expecting A’s in all of your classes now.”
“Scott, you can’t do that.”
“Excuse me? What? You want to discuss this with me?”
“No,” she begged. She stood up and held her hands out in front of her.
“You know exactly what position I like to discuss things in.” He grabbed her chair and pulled it out really far.
“A’s are fine. I can do that.” She could already picture him caning her at the end of the year. Nobody was perfect. This wouldn’t end well.
“Then let’s move on to the next point. Why is it that every time I check up on you either forget your medicine or your supper?”
“Every time is overdoing it. This has never happened before. You must know that. You see me in the cafeteria. This was just a one time thing.” She flew to his right arm and held it in place.
He leaned past her and opened her pill drawer. The pills for this evening were still in there.
“Scott, you can’t get mad about that. I take those pills before I go to bed. It wasn’t time yet.”
“Well, it is now. Take them. I’m watching.”
She realized that she was still holding onto his arm. She let go and reached for the pill case. He turned and grabbed a fresh bottle of water out of her cases without looking. She had gotten a fresh supply today. He twisted the lid open and gave her the bottle.
She took her pills quickly, hoping that he would leave when she finished them. He just glared at her.
She fidgeted under his stare. He stared back. She could tell that he was still very mad at her. “I’m sorry for all the inconvenience that I have caused everyone. It won’t happen again. I promise. I feel very bad about everything. Sorry.” She broke their eye contact and looked down at her folded hands.
He had actually learned something very important from the Dean. Stare them down, and they will talk. He was pleased that she was apologizing to him, but it wasn’t himself that he was worried about. He was worried about her. She still hadn’t learned her lesson about this. “Because this is a repeat offense the punishment will have to be made more memorable.”
Her head shot back up to him. “Scott, no please. This was all just a bit of a misunderstanding.”
“Really? Well that’s good to know. You just misunderstood that you have to eat three times a day. Oh I see.”
“Scott, please. I’m sorry that I made you so mad. I’ve been doing that a lot lately. Sorry.” She sighed.
He could tell that she meant it. She was one to accept blame when she was wrong, but she was also one to accept blame when it wasn’t her fault.
“I was just trying to get back on the right track, trying to do good. I studied all day.” She had tears in her eyes.
“Good, I believe you. I won’t kill you like I had planned. I’ll just spank you.” He started to roll up his sleeve.
His right sleeve was all wrinkled up already. This probably wasn’t the first spanking he had given today. This was no big deal to him. She was one of many.
Did she honestly deserve a spanking just because she had been daydreaming? It had even been about him. Besides, she really had to go to the bathroom.
He sat down and waved her forward.
“Umm –”
“Here we go again. What is it this time, Brianna? I realize you feel you don’t deserve a spanking, but I will convince you otherwise once I finally get you over my knees.”
She blushed and looked down at her hands again.
He waited, and she didn’t come over to him. Yesterday she had wanted one, and today she wouldn’t listen to him. He felt himself getting very mad. He waited, and she didn’t say anything or come to him.
How could she have liked him, Brianna thought. He certainly didn’t feel the same way about her. But still it seemed to be too much for her pride to tell him that she had to go to the bathroom. Her pride was stuck in her throat, and she just couldn’t swallow it.
She did still kind of like him. She didn’t want to admit that she had to go to the bathroom at all, ever. It was just too embarrassing, but to have to admit that she had to go right now made it even worse. It was getting worse by the second.
“Do we need to make this public?” He couldn’t believe that this was happening. He never had to do that to a second year, and he didn’t want to either, especially not her. She still didn’t come. He stood up and went to the door hoping that a bluff would take care of this problem.
“Scott,” she whispered.
“Yes, Brianna?” He was so relieved. He could feel a heavy weight being lifted from his shoulders.
“I have to – I have to – The thing is – I need –” Just spit it out she told herself.
Scott didn’t know what to expect. Maybe she wasn’t feeling well. She did just come back from the nurse’s office. His mind was going through hundreds of possibilities.
“I have to go – to the bathroom.” She kept her head hung.
He almost choked on his laughter, but he was able to keep it to himself. She was so adorable, shy and so precious to him. “I’ll give you five minutes. Go to the bathroom, and then change into your pajamas. When your spanking is finished, I will be bringing you right to bed.” He went out in the hallway and walked into the lounge. A couple of the girls were still studying there. He looked at his watch, and the girls started to pack their things together. He watched them clear out. They would have still had five minutes, but they could suit themselves.
Scott heard a toilet flush, and he smiled to himself.
He tried to remember what she had done about that when they had shared a motel room. She had probably waited for him to leave.
She was just the cutest thing in the world. He loved her so much, and he just wasn’t all that mad at her anymore. He could hardly stop smiling to himself. His mind drifted back to seeing at bit of her breasts. He wished that he had woken up before she had back in the motel. Then he would have a memory of how her breast felt in his hand.
He looked at his watch again. It was time
.
Brianna was having a hard time deciding which pajama she should wear. She had a couple of clean options. She didn’t want to look too much like a kid, but she didn’t want to look sexy either, that would only get her laughed at. It was already hot here. She decided on a white cotton pajama that had a sleeveless top and pull down bottom. It was kind of frilly with ruffles. It looked feminine.
She stood in the right spot, in between her desk and the chair, wanting him to know that she wasn’t looking for a fight. She heard the knock and got a nervous feeling like she had to go to the bathroom again. “Come in,” she called out, bravely.
He opened the door and closed it behind him. He looked for her. She was standing right where she should, on the right side of the chair. He looked at her in her pajamas. She looked like something from a couple hundred years ago. She looked so adorable. Her long hair completed the outfit. He heard himself sigh. “You look very nice.”
She looked confused. “Umm – thank you.” She said thank you like it was a question.
Scott pulled himself together. He closed the door and went over to the chair, feeling incredibly stupid as he sat down because he had already decided that he wasn’t going to spank her. Then he had an idea. He grabbed her and pulled her over his knees very quickly. She gave a little scream as he did that.
“You know what I think? I think you are too cute to spank.” He tickled her a little. She fussed more than she ever did for a spanking. Her feet were kicking like mad too.
“Scott, stop, please, stop.”
Anyone walking by would think that he was spanking her. She squealed on.
“First, I want to hear that you will never miss a meal for the rest of your life.”
She twisted and looked back at him. “The rest of my life. You don’t have to worry about me for the rest of my life. It’s enough if you worry about the next couple of years.”
His hand smacked her bottom hard. She hadn’t expected that, and her back arched up like a bow.
“I thought I was too cute to spank?” She shook her hands out.
He saw that and asked for her hand. Slowly, she reached back, and he took her hand. “Now let’s talk about your misdeeds. Starting with a paper that you will write for me and present to me next Friday. The topic is about why you especially need to take care of yourself. Make it interesting, nothing boring.”
She twisted her head back again to look at him. Was he serious? He was grinning from ear to ear. Yes, he was. He’d had her write lines before.
“Let’s move on to your other misdeeds. You felt guilty about what happened with Cathy. Everyone, even Cathy told you that was rubbish. Did you listen to them? No. You felt so guilty that you were purposely bad so I would spank you. You may not force me into spanking you, ever. That will always be my decision, not yours. Do you understand?”
Once again, she had to look back at him to see what his face looked like. He looked serious so she nodded quickly.
“I have a question. Why would you think that you won’t be my problem for the rest of your life, but you will be for the next couple of years?”
“Don’t you know?” She twisted the other way around and brought herself up to sitting on his lap. His hands had reached out to her so she couldn’t fall. She looked in his eyes and tilted her head a little to the side. “Our parents have gone apartment hunting together. The three of us will be sharing an apartment in Birmingham.”
His eyes widened at the possibilities. She would know the truth by then. That could be heaven if she liked him back and hell if she hated him. “I see.”
“I figured that you wouldn’t want to play babysitter anymore. I think the best thing is if we all just worry about ourselves.”
He smiled at her. “You wish. I was just working out what my expectations for you will be. You will just have music classes, and you are good at music, so I think straight A’s would be realistic.”
“Scott, you can’t do that.” Brianna was shocked. “You will just be there so Cathy feels safe and not so that I don’t feel safe.”
“I will make you feel safe too.” He pulled her close and hugged her. He liked that she was so tiny that she fit so comfortably on his lap.
“Scott, won’t you have to concentrate on your own studies? Besides, you wouldn’t be getting reports from my teachers, and if you went to them and asked for something along those lines, I would never talk to you again.”
“Never again?”
“No, I never would.” She crossed her arms over her chest and gave him what she felt was her determined look. She felt somehow odd like she was sitting on Santa’s lap. Almost like she should be telling him what she wanted for Christmas.
“Then I won’t talk to your teachers. You are right too. I will be very busy, and I will have lots to do myself, I hope I will still find time for you.” He had started out so charming, and then he ended so serious, like he would be sad not to have time for her.
She gave him an odd look.
“Well, then have we talked about everything?”
She nodded and tried to hide a smile. As if she would have pointed out that he had missed anything.
“Good then you need to get some sleep.” He held her tightly with one arm and leaned forward and threw back her covers with the other arm. He stood up with her in his arms. She laid her arms around his neck and held onto him tightly.
“Do you bring all the girls to bed like this?”
He continued to hold her. “No, just my favorite girl. Besides, the others are too heavy.” He laid her in bed then and covered her back up. He wanted to kiss her good night. Maybe he could do that at their apartment. He smiled at her.
“Why are you in such a good mood?” she asked as he sat on her bed staring at her.
“After the nurse kicked me out, I was worried that you would have to go to the hospital, and that the last words to you would have been the fight we’d had. I didn’t do what happened Christmas Morning on purpose, and I believe you that you believe me. I’m finally over it.” He looked to see how she was taking it. “Then to hear that you had missed suppertime. I was ready to blow, but again, I believe you that it was a one time deal. You usually go. You made an innocent mistake. I’m not a monster.”
“The thing is, if you have to tell people that you aren’t a monster, a person usually is.” She smiled at him very mischievously.
His eyebrow shot up. She was a little scared that he wouldn’t like her teasing him.
“You’re right, I am a terrible monster.”
“No, Scott, I was just kidding.”
“No, it’s true.” He pulled the blankets away from her and tickled her again.
She squealed again. “No, Scott. Stop it.”
He smiled and covered her back up again. “I’ll check on you in the morning. I want to make sure you eat a healthy breakfast. We can walk over to the cafeteria together. I’ll carry your tray back for you. Now get some sleep.” He left, turning the light out and locking the door.
Scott smiled to himself as he went back to his room. He was happy to have her back in his life again. And tickling was also a form of touching. He needed to hug her and hold her and have her sit on his lap. He decided to cross off the days on the calendar until he could tell her how much he loved her.
Scott also decided to pray every night that she would love him back.
That was odd. Brianna had never seen Scott so playful. He had tickled her twice. He had said that she looked cute, too cute to spank.
Either he had gone mad, or he really did think of her as his baby sister’s friend.
He had treated her like a little kid. Of all the people to have a crush on, why did she pick the one who would never want her back as a woman?
Chapter 9 – The Proper Care of Brianna Banks
The next morning he showed up as he said he would. He carried her tray back and opened all the doors for her. He looked over at her a lot while she was eating.
She smiled back at him and put something into
her mouth each time. He even had to laugh.
It got to be so obvious that he had to explain to the other disciplinarians that he had to spank her for skipping a meal last night and for making the lady in the cafeteria stay late. They laughed as he told them about the paper he was making her write. He was looking forward to reading that. It would be like a giant letter to him.
“What is making my brother so happy this morning?” Cathy raised her eyebrow just in the same way Scott always did.
“I don’t know, but he was that way last night too. I have never seen him acting so weird before. He even tickled me.”
Cathy snorted, and then she started coughing. Brianna had to pat her back until she settled down. “He has never tickled me.” She couldn’t stop laughing and coughing.
Brianna looked over at Scott again. She shrugged her shoulders at him, trying to tell him that she had no idea what was wrong with his sister.
They went to their classes, and Brianna was eager to show all of her teachers that she was on the ball again. Her reports back to Scott had to be perfect.
Brianna paced up and down, waiting for him to show. It was Friday, and she felt pretty sure that she had made her expectations for the week. She had her paper in her hands. She had checked it and double checked it for errors. He hadn’t said that it had to be perfect this time, but it could be assumed. She had tried to make it witty and interesting. She had titled it ‘The Proper Care of Brianna Banks.’
The knock came, and he stood smiling at her door. He had dropped by every day for something or another. He usually brought her to bed too. She even had her pajamas on. He seemed to be saving her for last.
“Good evening, Scott.” She held her paper out to him.
He took it and smiled. He grabbed her chair and pulled it out. She sat down on the bed across from him. “Good evening, Brianna. I am very happy to inform you that you were able to live up to your expectations. There will be no need for a punishment this week.”
